Park Street
I attended Park Street once again. This time once again I felt welcomed by the church but it was completely different service the the previous. This service was done by a different paster and also other people in the church got up and talked for a while. The first person that spoke was the guest paster, and he discussed what was going to happen. The second guy spoke about all the history of Park Street and how it started. The discussed different mission trips that have been taken to China and Africa over the past years and how it has helped them spread the word. Another person spoke about how we could help spread the word without going on a mission trip. The same way as the last service, there was a lot of singing.

First Evangelical Lutheran
The second church that I attended for my final project was my hometown church. Everything was normal and felt right during the service because it is what I have known my entire life. I always feel comfortable at my church because I know almost everyone and have since I have been attending the church. I know what to expect and and follow along a lot easier then I could at Park Street Baptist. One of the biggest difference is that during church at home there is more of a lesson and less singing. I think I take more away from the service when there is more lesson then music. But I still think that the music is good, but there more than just singing.
These two churches have similar beliefs and values, but worship in completely different ways. Park Street is focused on musical worship, while Lutheran is more focused on the book, prayers, and traditional worship.

Park Street Baptist
Two weeks ago I visited my first church for my final project. I attended Park Street Baptist, and I found that the service was very different then what I am use to. The service started with a prayer that led into a song. After we finished the first song we were welcomed to the church and then we sang six songs in a row. Following the last song the pastor finally came to the front of the church to start his sermon. The sermon lasted for about 15 minutes and after he was done with the sermon there was 10 minutes of quite for prayer and application and reflection while the piano played in the background. After the application and reflection was done we ended the service with another song and a final prayer and announcements.
This service was completely different then what I am use to and what I grew up with, but I kept my mind open to the different way that this church worship.
Even though I am not a member of the church I still felt that I felt in and that I was welcome. I did fill out of place though when I had never heard of the songs that were being sung.
