Hi Chad-
Sorry that I am late posting this blog. I completely forgot to post it after I set up my site. Sorry once again.
For my cultural immersion project I am going to explore the differences in churches in the area. I plan on visiting at least 4 different churches including Park Street Baptist, The Abundance Life, the First Presbyterian Church and my home town church in Dillon the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. All four of these churches have similar beliefs but have different ways of presenting their beliefs and views.
As I emerge myself into these different churches, I am going to study how they are different from each other, and at the same time how they are similar to each other. I would like to learn why and how different churches differentiation themselves from other churches that have the exact same beliefs, use the same bible, or even say the say types of prayers. What makes members of a church define themselves as a Lutheran or a Presbyterian, why can’t they be the same? What makes them different?
Of the four churches that I have chosen to study, I have attended two of them. Each church has the same beliefs but have completely different church services. Why?
I look forward to finding out these questions and learning more about different churches in the area and why there are so many different churches that have the same beliefs, and finally why services are some much different and having different ways to worship.
